Tosh Style Journal is an independent hair, style and live-events journal for Portsmouth and Southsea. We write about everyday hairstyles, how salon services and pricing usually work, product know-how, and the gigs, shows and days out worth dressing up for. We are glad to hear from readers, and the quickest way to reach us is by email.
How to get in touch
Email us at hello@andrewtosh.net. Please put a short, clear subject line on your message so it reaches the right pile, for example Correction, Event tip or Feedback.
The contact form on this page is for display only and does not send messages, so please use email instead.
Please note: we are not a salon
This website used to belong to a hair salon. It is now an independent journal with no connection to any hairdresser, barber or beauty business. That means:
- We cannot book, change or cancel appointments.
- We cannot answer questions about past visits, gift vouchers or prices at any particular salon.
- We do not sell hair products or styling tools.
If you are looking for a stylist, our guide on how to choose a stylist sets out the questions worth asking, and our price guide explains what usually affects the cost of a service.
What we would love to hear about
- Corrections: if a venue address, a piece of local history or a practical tip on this site is wrong or out of date, tell us which page and what has changed.
- Event tips: gigs, comedy nights, theatre runs and seasonal events around Albert Road, the seafront and the city centre. Send the venue, the date and a link to the official listing where possible.
- Ideas for articles: hair or style questions you would like explained in plain English.
Venues and local makers
If you run a venue or make something locally and want to send event news, have a look at our partners page first. It explains how we handle submissions and why we never run paid placements disguised as editorial.
What happens next
We read everything that arrives, but we are a small operation and cannot promise a personal reply to every message. Corrections are checked against reliable sources before a page is updated. Please do not send medical questions about your scalp, skin or hair loss; for those, a pharmacist, GP or qualified professional is the right person to ask.
Meanwhile, you can browse our guide to nearby places or the archive of extras.
